It certainly is very strange that Gloria would select a species of bird that is extremely clumsy on land and cannot fly without running on the water for several miles to gather enough lift. However, Gloria had seen pictures of the common loon and saw their diving skills as majestic. The room would change into the habitat of the chosen animal anyway, she thought, so I should really seize the opportunity to be my favourite animal after all.
Once she decided on her choice, she felt her mouth and nose stretch out to form her beak. A long, black protrusion entered her eyes, and when she attempted to open her mouth she found the completed beak opening instead, after which she immediately slammed it shut, finding it strange that she could feel that the protrusions on the front of her top beak slam against her lower beak.
