"Well," Manny said, "I fancy morphing into... a snake!"
"A snake?" Margaret and Andrew said at once.
"Yup." Manny said. "A snake."
"Go for it, Dad!" Andrew said.
Without a second thought, Manny stripped down to his birthday suit, shut his eyes, and lay down on his back.
Margaret and Andrew watched as Manny's legs began to fuse, elongate, and turn into that of a snake tail.
Snake scales crept up Manny's chest, but then, to the surprise of Margaret and Andrew, they stopped just before reaching his bellybutton.
To Margaret's surprise, she noticed the top half of her husband was unchanged.
Manny raised his top half up, and opened his eyes - which had slits for pupils.
"What the?" Andrew said in surprise. "Dad? Your top is unchanged."
"I know." Manny said.
"You do?" chorused Margaret and Andrew, for quite different reasons.
"When I said I'd become a snake, I actually meant half-snake."
"Half snake?" Margaret said, bewildered.
"Yup." Manny said. "You've heard of centaurs, well, now you're looking at the first ever snake-taur! It's a being with the torso of a man, and the tail of a snake!"
"Holy cow!" Andrew said. "You're the best ever snake-taur ever, dad!" he gave his snake-taur dad a hug.
