Suddenly on one side of a the room, a flat-screen appeared with one of Marshals that previous assisted yourself and Samantha. You notice the colors and light flickering being a bit odd which may have been due to your new fly vision, but easily seeing the pixels on the screen further reminded of your new small size. You saw him mouthing for talking, but the actual speech was coming in your head like you telepathy usage between you and Samantha.
"Hello, I am Marshall Bob. You can use your telepathy to speak to me as needed, and I am currently using a telepathy device to make sure you understand me. Your senses are very alien even to our agency, but the telepathy should make for an easy way to communicate until you two get more use to your bodies. Please give a response if this is working." You and Samantha gave a mental "Yes", although you assumed Samantha gave hers. Was group telepathy a more advanced skill?
"As previously discussed, you are under Witness Protection and you two selected excellent forms to remain hidden as. You have many traits to make your forms convenient and to help ensure your safety, but do try to avoid any actual harm as well as drawing attention to yourselves. Do you understand?" We both gave our mental confirmation again to Bob.
"That being said, you are in one of our "Safe Houses" designed for your forms. All your needs will be taken care of, including food, automatically cleaning, and many forms of recreation. Completely catering to each Witnesses' form is an ongoing process so bear with us and the budget Uncle Sam has given us. I am personally glad for your forms as a safe room for flies is much easier to customize than one for much larger... animals. "
Marshal Bob continued. "You can leave the safehouse at your leisure, and you have a special ability to know where the safehouse is at will, especially since you'll find out soon why having this trait is important. You also can use a panic button here to immediately contact me or another Marshall on duty as needed. For your safety, as little personnel know where your actual location and what your new forms actually are. We'd like to set up possible meeting intervals for conveniences on both sides to make sure you're okay. Do you understand?" Another mental confirmation came.
Bob continued with some more details. Overall we had a lot of freedom that both me and Samantha thought wouldn't be typical of being witnesses under protection. He said this was due to past witness issues and feedback, but also it would be very hard to be "suspicious" as flies unless we purposefully trying to draw attention and reveal ourselves. Bob continued to emphasize the "convenient" part as they're more wary of witnesses turned into animals due to lacking things such as fingers or other humanly traits to live normally. Being a Gazelle in wild Africa might become both a difficult and sanity-testing experience for a first timer regardless of interest. Adjusting to our House Fly bodies would be complicated, but it would be at least cheap due our sizes and safe house inconspicuousness. Bob even mentioned possible opportunities for government research, but first he wanted to make sure we were settled in.
After setting up for some suggested meeting intervals with Bob, we said our good byes and soon Samantha and I (Jacob) were to ourselves again.
