Duncan felt uneasy as he now approached Miro's room, he would be most unhappy with the news he had. Pushing open the door the elite vampire now gazed at his Lord. "What do you have to report," he asked.
"It is as you feared my Lord," Duncan said quietly. "Merrick is dead." Miro snarled, tossing his goblet at the wall, the glass exploding and coating it in blood. "How did the Moreland find him!?"
"My scouts are unsure Lord Miro," Duncan stammered. "But there is no denying it. The Demon Hunter found and eliminated Merrick."
Miro sighed heavily, these hunters were becoming problematic. Over the course of the weekend the vampire lord had discovered that between the two hunters more than 60 vampires had been eliminated. "What else do you have to report," Miro growled.
"We are making in roads with the wizards," Duncan stated. "They do not suspect Natalia, Cassidy, or myself."
"Any weaknesses," Miro asked.
"The Tozawa parents themselves have no magic," Duncan stated. "However, they are rarely not without at least one wizard nearby. It appears the woman, Reiko Tozawa, is a caretaker for the youngest the wizards. Natalia has quickly befriended the woman."
"A woman who cares for a pair of Oni and a kitsune," Mirk said quietly. "Continue to gather information. Natalia will be most valuable in determining the wizards movements. What of Cassidy, what has she learned."
"Not as much as Natalia," Duncan stated. "She has befriended a pair of wizards, so far they do not suspect her."
Miro nodded, dismissing Duncan as he now gazed at the night sky. "Romi," he called. "Summon Ken and Ann. I need to speak with them." Romi did as he was told, returning a short time later with the blind swordsman and the child vampire.
"You summoned me My Lord," Ken asked.
"Jacob Moreland must be dealt with," Miro seethed. "Take Ann and any other vampire you need to deal with him. Set a trap and dispose of this hunter once and for all."
"It will be done my Lord," Ken bowed as he turned to leave. Miro now glanced backwards, eyeing the child vampire who was staring at Miro with wide eyes. "Do what you do best Ann."
A sinister grin now spread across Ann's face as she departed with Ken. As powerful as this Demon Hunter was Miro had little doubt the Five would be able to dispose of him. Once the hunter was dealt with Miro could move on with his plan of making one of the children of the wizards his next vampire.
"Dont forget our deal Miro."
Miro glanced at the vampire Selene, the former lich anxiously watching the vampire lord. "I have not forgotten Selene," he stated. "For your service I will allow you to take one of the children as a sacrifice. You may use that child to once more ascend to Lichhood. But I remind you. Afterwards you are to negotiate a treaty between the Liches and Vampires."
"I have made a solemn vow Miro," Selene stated. "Once I return to Lichhood I will broker a treaty with the Liches."
Miro now nodded, glancing once more at the night sky. Soon, hopefully soon, he would see his plans come to fruition.
