As Natalia and Reiko talked, neither noticed a portal begin to open in the Tozawa's front lawn. As it vanished two 12 year olds and a black cat now tried to get their bearings.
"Everyone okay," Mia asked.
"My heads spinning," Zack groaned. "Mia why are we here?"
"Sorry," Mia replied sheepishly. "But Kellie got a text message from Katie. Something bad happened in this timeline. After talking with Rexie, I felt we should check on Yuki."
Zack frowned, turning his gaze at the imp familiar at Mias side. "Is that true Rexie?"
"Thats what Akira told Ayami," Rexie shrugged. "I mean the big guy was going to check it out but considering what happened the last time he visited, Ayami wanted us to go instead."
"Because you three lost," Zack said flatly.
"We didn't lose," Rexie grumbled. "We were surprised and couldn't counter before they took off. Now quit being a smart ass you want to check on your goddaughter or what?"
Zack shrugged, Ayami hadn't gone into the details of what had happened over the summer, but he knew Akira was still angry. Whatever had happened the wizards had contacted the other timeline. Things were unsettled and it could mean Yuriko was in danger.
"I don't know what happened," Mia stated. "But I know Mr. and Mrs. Harris left Yuriko with her grandma. I told them I would check on her when I got the chance tonight."
Zack sighed, nodding as thw three now approached the Tozawa home. As Mia gazed inside she winced causing Zack to become nervous. "Is something wrong?"
"Ummm I think Yuki changed and grandma and someone else into kids," Yuriko replied meekly. Zack sighed as the two preteens now approached the door.
Natalia would say it hadn't been a completely unpleasant evening. Yes being reduced to a 13 year old girl wasn't exactly what she had in mind but, it was proving to be a well meaning distraction. When she returned to normal, she could try again. The sound of the bell ringing now caused the two 13 year olds to raise an eyebrow. "Are you expecting someone Reiko?"
"No," Reiko replied slowly. "Maybe my parents forgot their house key." Natalia now watched as Reiko made her way towards the door, the girl practically tripping on her too long jeans. As she opened the door, Natalia could hear the 13 year old excitedly talking, inviting whoever it was in.
"Nattie," Reiko said excitedly. "This is Mia. Zack, and Rexie. Yuki's godparents."
Natalia now studied the two preteens carefully, her pulse quickening. She may have been reduced to a young teen, but her senses hadn't dulled. Natalia could smell the dark magic coming from the slightly younger girl. What was worse was the boy and the black cat that accompanied her. The boy smelled like a werewolf, which was bad news for the vampire. Werewolves and vampire's weren't exactly on good terms. Add into the equation a cat that smelled like a demon and Natalia suddenly felt very nervous.
"Umm hi" Natalia replied shyly. "I'm Reiko's friend Natalia."
Zack and Mia waved politely as they now looked between Reiko and Natalia. "Hi," Mia waved. "Um wheres Yuki?"
"Shes in her play pen," Reiko said. "Did my folks ask you to babysit again? I told them I could watch Yuki without any help. I mean I'm 13!"
Mia and Zack nodded, the two preteens exchanging a look. "Um sorry," Zack said softly. "Ummm we didn't know Mrs. Toza...um Reiko. We kinda said we could watch Yuki."
"Well I've been watching her very carefully," Reiko stated. "But, if you guys want to hangout with me and Nattie that's cool. We were just trying to find a movie."
"Umm a movie sounds great," Mia said. "Zack can you give me a sec. I have to umm check something." Zack nodded, joining Reiko on the couch as Mia now took out a cellphone. It appeared the girl was making a phone call. Natalia definitely didn't like where this was headed, slinking away as everyone was distracted to make a call.
Entering the kitchen, Natalia now made a quick phone call to Selene, hoping to get any information.
"Why do you keep calling Natalie," Selene groaned. "Does becoming 13 mean your obsessed with your phone now?"
"Quit being difficult," Natalia hissed. "Somethings come up. Two kids just showed up. I think their the babies god parents."
A long pause now emanated from Natalia's phone, the young girl thinking they had been disconnected for a moment. What Selene said next now only added to her apprehension.
"You need to leave. NOW!"
"Why," Natalia hissed. "And I can't go out in public like this. I don't want to be stuck at 13!"
"The babies godparents," Selene said quickly. "Are a witch and a werewolf. Tell me? Did they come with a black cat?"
Natalia looked, noticing the black cat moving towards her, its eyes an odd reddish color as it stared at the grown down vampire. "Yeah the cats here," she whispered. "Its acting kinda weird, just staring at me."
"That cat is a familiar," Selene whispered. "Its an imp. Chances are it senses somethings up. If they find out what you are you're screwed!"
Natalia gulped, nervously looking between the familiar and the others. Things were beginning to get out of control, she had to find a way to fix this before anyone found out what she actually was.
