Maddy's subconscious asleep was basically the same. She did dream that night, but she couldn't really tell you what it was about as when she woke up she instantly forgot what she dreamed about as she saw a somewhat familiar face next to her in bed. A young face with a bunch of blue feathers ontop of the head. Now on occasion Maddy would imagine Karen next to her in bed, but when she could feel some squishy gelatinous sensation alongside smooth feathers and soft flesh... Well Maddy was spooked which spooked Karen who rose out of bed. Maddy stared at the ceiling as her imaginary friend seemed to be real. Karen seemed to be floating through some means... maybe the jellyfish part was magic? Maddy realized that usually when she imagined Karen she imagined that Karen was just kinda there. No need for hands or a real way to move, but reality was trying to make Karen work even if it had to make magic exist to do so.
Karen spread her wings a little and flapped towards Maddy laying in bed and asked "You alright Maddy? Did you have a nightmare?"
Maddy looked at the floating kid animal hybrid thing and thought "...No, but I think I may be going insane." but said "No, you just surprised me for a second."
"Oh sorry Maddy!" Karen said and then asked "So what are we going to do today?"
Maddy got up and stretched and said "Going to get changed, get something to eat, and then who knows what..." As Maddy went to the dresser she felt a little self-conscious and asked "Karen, could you wait outside while I change?" Did this modesty make any sense considering Karen was just a mental construct? Probably not, but it just felt right. Maddy rose from her bed as Karen seemed to open the dorm's door and exit the room... Maddy thought that seemed pretty realistic, but then again if she was going crazy from lack of social interaction then everything may as well stay consistent... Except that Karen only had wings and tentacles with no muscle structure. How'd she grip the door's handle? That was one mystery for another time as Maddy walked to her dresser, and as she pulled open a drawer and looked down... She noticed something odd. No it wasn't that she was suspecting Karen of stealing one of her Bras or something, but that there was a bulge coming from her pajama top. She grabbed them and felt that she actually had boobs! Finally she might be a B-cup... actually more than that as she start waking up more and noticing some details... Her belly button was exposed and her pajama pants seemed to be floods now. She was having a growth spurt! About time mother nature! Maddy had given up hope and thought she'd be a shorty her whole life. It may have just been an inch or two and she was still short, but not as short and that was the important thing. Maybe she'd grow a little more?
Maddy had put on a skirt, and a baggy shirt she had for herself, and tried to make a bra for herself as the training bras did nothing for her new boobs and went outside to see... There was another girl in the hallway staring at Karen. She seemed to be of Japanese decent, tall, and busty... but also that she was aware of something that shouldn't exist in reality being in reality.
"Um... Hi... You can see her?" Maddy asked
The new girl looked to the side for a second and asked "Do you know what... she is? An alien maybe?" based on the girl's accent she probably was raised in the States. She didn't seem scared, especially since Karen wasn't exactly threatening, but the new girl didn't know what to do.
Maddy stammered "Well ugh... You see... She is an. Imaginary friend."
"Like Foster's friends?" Maddy hadn't actually known a ton of cartoons. She had mostly grown up either on an unhealthy diet of kids anime and certain anime not meant for kids... or just despising animation in general for the sins of anime specifically.
"I guess?" Maddy shrugged.
So far Maddy's wishes were coming true bit by bit. She was growing larger which would make her feel more like a young woman than a kid, she had Karen and if things went will with this new girl she may a new friend, and who knows if this friend could help Maddy with her anime complex? It was just all a little too complex and Maddy wished things would get a little more simple.
