I felt bad for Samantha but I needed to know what it was like to be with Kyle. A few minutes after Samantha went inside I made the swap: I changed “Samantha is in a relationship with Kyle.” to “I am in a relationship with Kyle.” I closed my eyes and let the magic happen.
I opened my eyes to see Kyle’s face inches away from my own. He looked concerned as he looked at me. “Everything okay, babe?” I could feel my cheeks get red as I looked at him - my now boyfriend. I smiled and nodded. “Oh yeah, everything’s just fine.” He smiled back at that response, causing my heart to melt. We continued talking between checking IDs, but now it was a bit more flirtatious that before.
As we talked, I tried to find my side effect, but whatever it was wasn’t obvious. Eventually a couple of the bartenders came outside to relieve us for our breaks. We’d normally take them separately but since we were together, management let us take them together. Kyle took my hand and excitedly brought me to the back, where he pressed his lips against mine.
