This Magical Thing Is So Doggone Wonderful!

added by NotAboutCoffee A year ago A BM

For the first time in forever, Miles felt alive. This morning he had woke up as a simple teenager who hated his mom, hated school, and generally hated everything. Not in an emo way, but he just had an angry view on life, drowning it out on debauchery and drinks and arguments. But Miles now saw the errors of his ways, and saw the world with a much wider perspective. The world seemed a whole lot bigger, a whole lot brighter. And Miles felt a whole lot more powerful.

Molly watched the glimmer in Miles's eyes, and smirked to herself. It was the same glimmer her mother saw in Molly when she first discovered her magical powers. For the first time in forever, Molly felt connected to Miles. She felt like she knew what he was feeling. All the memories of the fights and the nights of tears and sore throats seemed long gone, washed away by the knowledge that soon she and Miles would be closer than ever. Molly felt better than she's ever been since her husband's untimely death... and it only helped that Miles was so totally dressed as a female goth.

"Mom, this is... this is amazing! We have to do more with this. I have to change more people!" Miles said.

The smirk dropped from Molly's face. As much as she loved Miles's enthusiasm, and as much as she loved the changes, she still needed to be careful here. Although Miles would soon be a magical expert, technically speaking he was still an amateur. And she needed to be careful that Miles wouldn't be exposing too much, or making a magical mistake that could awaken him to the truth.

"Now Miles... you still have a lot to learn about Magic... It's still very easy for you to make a mistake..." Molly started.

"But mom, that last spell went perfectly!" Miles said.

"Yes, it seems so... but what if you had melted them into jelly? What then? And you still don't even know if your spell will have any unintended consequences. We'll have to observe..."

At that moment, another one of their neighbors, Larry Sadler, walked out of his house, a mysterious blonde woman barely dressed rushing out behind him. Then, angrily from the house, came Larry's wife, Rachel.

"You jackass! You're cheating on me! You're CHEATING! YOU JACKASS!" Rachel yelled.

"Now that the truth is out... Rachel, I'm leaving you. For June." Larry said.

"You... you... SON OF A BITCH!" Rachel yelled, as tears flowed through her eyes.

"Please... we're in love... please understand." June, the blonde woman, said.

"PLEASE UNDERSTAND! WE'RE MARRIED! LARRY... PLEASE DON'T DO THIS!" Rachel cried.

Miles watched with sad eyes. Rachel was someone who always said hi to Miles, despite his reputation, and now all he could think about was helping her with his new magical powers. He looked to Molly with some puppy dog eyes.

"Mom... can I just help Rachel, please?" Miles asked.

Molly sighed. As much as she didn't want Miles to continue recklessly using magic, she too liked Rachel, who seemed like a rather freindly person. And she never liked that slimeball Larry either. She of course didn't know much about June, but if she was caught in the crossfire, well, so be it.

"OK, Miles, but just this last change. Then we go inside and teach you a thing or two." Molly said. Excitedly, Miles flipped through the spellbook, and found a spell that seemed perfect.

"Rachel deserves a little love in her life... Incanis Corpore Transmuto!" Miles said aloud, focusing his energy on Larry and June. In an instant, Rachel's demeanor turned to a much happier one.

"Larry, June! Are you ready for walkies!?" Rachel suddenly exclaimed.

Molly and Miles watched as dog collars suddenly appeared on Larry's and June's neck. A long drooling tongue fell out of Larry's mouth as he began to pant, golden fur encasing his body. A dark nose and long brown ears appeared on June, a white and brown tail now wagging behind her. The changes went at a rapid fire pace, and soon, Rachel was holding the leashes of Larry the Golden Retriever and June the Beagle.

"Let's go my good doggies!" Rachel said. Larry and June obdiently followed, tails wagging and tongues panting, as they both filled with thoughts about how they loved their owner.

"Much better, don't you think?" Miles said.

"That form suits Larry much more" Molly laughed.

In that moment, Molly realized that now she was slightly shorter than Miles! Miles had grown much taller than his 16 year old form, and by the looks of his dress, skinnier too. Molly shook her head. Even though Miles was supposed to be the younger sister, she was gonna be taller than him!

Option 1: Miles ignores Molly's request to stop changing others, and tries to change another neighbor, but the spell horribly backfires. As Miles learns to deal with the consequences, he ages to 26.

Option 2: Molly and Miles return to to the house, where Molly shows off Miles an ancient family heirloom. As Miles takes hold of it, his chest fills out his dress.
