“You almost sound like you are Russian” Michael told her. He tentatively took the socks. He couldn’t back out now. Not now Kerry had changed without hesitation. He took his own shoes off, put the red socks on, then extracted the flip flops from the bag. They were almost worn through. The fellow certainly had needed new footwear. No wonder these had been discarded.

That was a wake up call to Michael. He realised his feet were tingling. And he recalled what Tom had discovered last weekend – that the socks remembered the last changes they had made. In this case it was changing Kerry into the exotic woman she now was. Michael would become Kerry’s twin if he didn’t put his feet into a different pair of shoes. The thought made Michael shiver. His hair then began to change colour, grew to the unkempt style the surfer had sported and Michael became the surfer dude. Kerry judged him to be about an inch taller than the old Michael.
Michael’s voice changed, becoming slightly higher pitched but still masculine. He did not have an accent that Kerry could discern but she seemed to be in denial that she had an accent herself. She was happy with her choice of body for Michael.
