Kate and Tom did not use the socks that night. Kate was busy ringing around to make last minute checks that everything was in order for tomorrow night. It was after 9pm by the time she got off the phone and she wanted an early night so she would have plenty of energy in the morning. She had to be at the venue at 9 am to put up decorations for the dinner dance. If all went well she would be finished by lunchtime and be home in time to see Tom and Kerry swap.
Tom had not even registered that Kerry had only been there to return the socks. He was feeling very nervous about tomorrow. He did really want to go to the football but it was the bit about being in Kerry’s body that was scaring him. His stomach was churning with butterflies. He almost summoned the courage to tell Kate that he was backing out of the deal with Kerry. But was it courage or was he a coward? He asked himself. ‘Would a real man be prepared to become a woman to do what he really wanted’ He stayed quiet, ate dinner, watched a bit of TV then went to bed shortly after Kate did. They did not have sex
