Connor considered Spark's suggestion then took out his phone to look at movie showtimes. As he was about to suggest a movie, he looked like he had suddenly gotten a new idea and began to search through his phone before coming to some actual results.
"I've actually got a better idea, but we'll have to wait a little while." Connor suggested as Spark shrugged.
"Okay, though I'll admit I really wanted to see some hardcore action movie, or maybe even an adventure film like that guy with the hat and whip." Spark said.
Caleb and Gloria were headed into the movie theater before spotting the two of them.
"Oh, hey. You two weren't going to join us for a movie?" Caleb asked.
"Nah, I...wanted to surprise Spark with something else cooler." Connor told his brother.
"Well, I hope you two like it. Meanwhile, we're going to see a nice movie....alone...and in the dark." Gloria said with a smirk as she held close to Caleb who blushed.
Spark and Connor both rolled their eyes at how overly romantic the two of them were. Now Spark and Connor headed outside the mall and sat down at a bench. They sat down next to each other waiting silently and awkwardly. Spark opened her mouth to say something, but stopped, not really sure of what to say at the moment.
"I don't blame you at all for what happened." Connor finally said.
Spark looked up with wide eyes at what he'd just said. Spark didn't want to mention Connor's father all day or what had happened for fear of bringing up anger, hostility, and grief.
"I know that you think you messed up, that you were the one who cost him his arm, but you weren't. You're job has always been to be a protector, an aide, our friend. I've always thought of you as a great friend Spark. Gloria and Caleb gave you a fun day as a human, but I wanted to show you what the heart of a human is like." Connor said as he looked at his phone.
By now Spark had only watched Connor talk, but now he gently took her head and turned it toward the sky. Spark's eyes went wide as they now watched a meteor shower start.
"Wow, it's like....it's like a bunch of fairies shooting down from the heavens." Spark watched in awe as she slowly reached over and took hold of Connor's hand.
Gloria and Caleb's movie had ended as they exited the mall and saw the meteor shower.
"Well, it's the end of the day. I should probably change Spark back." Gloria said as she looked around for them.
"Uh, maybe hold off on that for a little while." Caleb said as he pointed to Spark and Connor sitting on a bench close together looking up at the sky.
"Spark?" Connor asked.
"Yeah, Con....?" Spark didn't finish replying before Connor gave Spark a brief but quick kiss on the lips. Both of them didn't say anything else as the two of them just blushed while watching the rest of the meteor shower.
It wouldn't be long before Spark was back to being a fairy, but she was going to enjoy the rest of the night as a human with Connor, her first human crush.
