Hannah decided that she would make Molly forget that the spellbook ever existed. Now, she just had to hide the book for a day.
Molly hid the book in her room, and, exhausted as she was, forced herself to do her various chores and schoolwork, and even get a start on preparations for dinner. She kept it in her back pack when she left the house. Fortunately, Molly didn't seem to have noticed that it was gone. That night, at bedtime, Hannah took out the book and asked it for a spell to make her mother forget that it existed. She looked at the spell it showed her.
Is this Latin?, she wondered. I wonder if I should have the book teach me Latin sometime...
She got herself into bed and spoke the spell : "Fac me oblivisci unquam hunc librum"
Even as Hannah passed out, elsewhere in the house, Molly's memories of the book and what she had done with it faded from her mind. As a consequence, her memories of Miles' existence vanished, too.
The next night, Hannah decided to cast a spell to render her mother unable to use magic, just in case she found the book by accident.

Finally, she was ready to use the book for what she wanted to know - what her mother had used the book for. "Indica mihi quid dixerit tibi matre solebat."
When she awoke the next morning., she remembered everything that Molly had done. I had a brother! I had a brother, and Mom turned him into into Grandma! Or at least, a kind of new version of Grandma! She destroyed her own son! How could she have done that? Sure, he was a jerk, but still...
