Milly showed you her dolls while the grownups drank wine and ate biscuits. It was really good fun. You decided that even if you had to be a boy again you would never knock playing with dolls. The dolls played Mummy and daddy's. Milly asked 'Where's your Daddy?"
You had to think about your answer "I don't have a Daddy"
"My Daddy can be your Daddy then, He's really nice"
Then you went out to dinner as if you were all one big happy family. You had fish and chips, then banana fritters for dessert.
You went back to your room after dinner, quite excited as Milly was coming with you. Mummy was going to mind Milly as her Mummy and Daddy were going out. You stopped by Milly’s room and collected her doll’s and teddy and a nighties for her to wear.
Mummy let you play for another hour. She even let you and Milly use some of her lipstick. You pretended you were grown ladies just like Mummy and Sam.
You didn't even mind when Mummy said it was bed time. As Milly was going to share your bed. She cleaned the lipstick off your faces and put you in your nighties. Milly thought your new nightie that Mummy had made for you was really pretty. Mummy had made you put on pull up’s on but that was okay. Even big girls who are nearly four like Milly, still wore pull ups at night.
When Mummy tucked you in, gave you a kiss good night and dimmed the light, you didn't mind. You had your best ever friend Milly with you. It had been a magical day!
