"146...145...144..." the scale continues to read as it steadily goes down to 140.
"WHAT? No! That can't be right!" Rachel shouts as she frantically looks around for the package.
"139...138...137..."
For a second, everything is perfect. Then the number keeps going down.
"126...125...124..."
Rachel's entire body goes rigid. Her eyes widen as she looks at the mirror and can't help but notice that her reflection is starting to look smaller, her clothes appear looser as well.
"No... this can't happen!"
"121...120...119..."
When the scale goes down to 99, Rachel is still unable to move. She is looking at the mirror and seeing her own body start to change in front of her eyes.
"What the hell is happening?" Rachel asks herself as she continues to look into the mirror.
She notes that she has become noticeably smaller, Rachel was normal 5 feet 5 inches tall but now she seemed to be at least a foot and half short. The Alice outfit that had once fit snuggly to her body now hung off of her, far too big for her to wear. The cerulean blue dress elegantly graced the floor as the petticoat dragged along, the white apron clung uselessly to her her diminutive frame. The white sleeveless undershirt felt like a balloon underneath the dress, the bloomers bunched up around her crotch as the white hip-length stockings held them in place but even those showed signs of slack, fabric bunched up around the knees and ankles; Rachel's feet wiggled uselessly as they sought the tip of her black single-straped mary jane shoes. As Rachel continued to look down at herself in disbelief the black headband with its matching bow fell over her eyes, as if mocking her.
As she opened her mouth to speak she could feel as if a weight had been lifted off of her, she could move once again. Slowly she took a step off the scale, as if afraid her clothes would completely fall of her shrunken form. Looking at the room and back at the scale Rachel finally spoke. "What in the world?" she said to herself quietly.
"I don't know what happened to me. I can't remember what my size was." Rachel frowns. "I wonder if I'm shrinking."
She looked around the living room once more, sure enough the coffee table reached her waist and the tv towered over her.
"I guess I am..." She mumbled.
