"No worries," you hear a relatively high-pitched, cheerful voice say. You find yourself looking at an incredibly attractive woman in a business suit whose coffee you just spilled. And who has a long, black tail with a spade tip. Which you do your best not to stare at.
"I didn't mean to...I was just looking around and..." your eyes wander as you try gamely to explain. "Can I buy you another drink?" At that, the raven-haired beauty finally looks up from drying her hands and scrutinizes you. Wait, you didn't sound like you were trying to pick her up or something, did you? You're not normally attracted to women, but this one keeps drawing your gaze. Luckily, her face seems to relax a bit.
"Oh, a newbie, huh?" she chuckles gamely. "I guess it's your first day, considering how normie you look. Quite the culture shock, eh? Maybe I will take you up on that drink," she grins. "My name's Jacob, nice to meet you," she says, sticking out her hand for a handshake.
"Oh, uh...yeah," you stutter in embarrassment and shake the proffered hand.
"You'll get used to it eventually," Jacob grins sultrily and points to a nearby coffee shop, which you follow her to dumbly. After you both grab a drink and sit at one of the tables, Jacob starts the conversation.
"So, are you planning to stay in Hellbent?" she starts with the obvious question.
"Well, I think so, it's just...it's a bit..." you try to figure out how to be diplomatic.
"Weird?" Jacob interjects with a seductive smile. "Yeah, I get it. I mean, I used to be a pretty built guy, not to toot my own horn. Looking like this takes a bit adjusting to," Jacob gestures to her rather voluptuous body. "Speaking of which, you'd be surprised how many things horns can get caught on," she points to her forehead, which you just notice has a headband with symbols on it. Does she mean she has horns but keeps them suppressed? "Not to mention the upkeep."
"Upkeep?" you finally can't help but query. If she meant financial, didn't the company take care of that?
"Oh, I'm a succubus," Jacob responds rather nonchalantly. "So I have certain needs."
She doesn't need to elaborate. You get it. But then...
"So how do you..." you still find yourself tripping over your tongue when talking to people here.
"When life give you lemons..." Jacob smirks and slides you a business card. "I'm not super-attracted to guys, but having been one, let's just say I'm familiar with what feels good. I can make the adjustment easier and less anxiety-inducing when someone's learning to use their new 'equipment.' Being a psychiatrist helps, too. So when the time comes, feel free to reach out to me if you like...or even before that if you're interested." Jacob picks up her coffee cup and struts out of the cafe, her tail swaying lazily behind her.
You look down at the card: " Jacob Newhouse, Sex Therapist."
