Randy Payton was a 27-year-old mechanic that was often called to the gym to fix the weight machines and anything that happened to break. Which, considering how big the gym was, Randy found himself getting called to it quite often. Despite the mechanic's lanky build, Randy could be quite intimidating to some of the gym-goers. The sneer he made when anyone was bothering him was enough to scare off even guys that were bigger than him.
In reality, though, Randy was grumpy and bitter because of an incident a few years back. Once, he was a promising engineer at a certain company until one day he was outed as gay, and the company fired him. He tried to sue that company, but he lost that suit. The company denied the allegations and presented evidence of Randy's work not being up to their standards. The company's argument was fabricated, of course, but the courts still believed Randy's former company over him. All of this had left Randy unable to find any work outside of this mechanic job and feeling bitter and angry at the world.
Anyway, that was enough backstory for now. Back to the present, Randy had finished fixing up the air conditioning, so now all that was left was repairing one of the weight machines. He glanced over at Matt and his gang and sneered. Those brain-dead jocks were always causing trouble for him and the other gym-goers. It didn't help that they were also homophobic, just like his old company. Oh, if only he was as strong as they were, then he could teach them a thing or two... Not to mention it might give him a better chance of finding a boyfriend...
Randy shook his head. No, now was not the time to be thinking of that. He didn't need to get depressed now. He should just focus on fixing this machine. Though, when he was fixing it up, he noticed that it was easier to lift the parts to fix this machine. Maybe all this lifting part had made him stronger. Hmm, now that he thought of it, the gym did give him some free gym passes, considering how often he had to come around here to fix things. Perhaps it was finally time to use them.
