Despite the pain, Brian held onto the statue of Kar, keeping his mouth firmly planted on the stone phallus that was pouring power into him. He had come too far to let a little pain stop him now. He wasn't going to let go until he had taken every bit of power this place had to give!
Brian continued to grow. Now he was as big as when he had first drained that human, Cameron. But Brian wanted more. He remembered his humiliation at the hands of the Knight (conveniently forgetting that he had stolen the Knight's muscles first.) Brian remembered how he had been tricked - somehow the Knight had used illusion to appear like a beautiful elf woman - and the memory filled Brian with fury. His rage was such that he would bear any amount of pain here, to see the Knight brought low.
And far away, on another plane entirely, Kar noticed.
Kar turned to a world that he had paid little attention to the last thousand years. He had been bored with it, Kar recalled, bored with the petty mortals and their petty conflicts. Bored with all the other gods and demons always fighting over it.
But here was something else. This being - this elf - this Brian. He was so focused, so intense, so angry. Kar smiled. This one might be fun.
