In the old days, and in some places, Christmas was celebrated for more than one year. For some, these "extra" days numbered twelve (and were the origin of the song 'The Twelve Days of Christmas') while for others, these were slightly more or less. In Animalia, Christmas was celebrated for both the last two weeks of December and the first three weeks of January. While this was mainly to deal with all the Christmas parties and let people enjoy their gifts, there were a few people whose gifts were either conversions or upliftings.

There were also a few Animalia Ambassadoria Christmas Specials that covered all the special events that were going on. The best examples of this were the coverage of both the family-friendly Christmas party at Kat's Club and the "classier" Christmas party at Fennec Hall. This one, once again covered by Miles, also covered the "family melodrama" between Lars' ex-wife, Morgan, and Philip and Joanne, even though it wasn't the main focus of the coverage. However, that wasn't important as many people still enjoyed it, with some calling it 'better than a sitcom', or 'better than reality tv'.

There were also a few 'family traditions' that took place that were more confusing to uplifted Animalians than they were to converted Animalians, such as the 'fruitcake tradition' as well as the 'ugly sweater tradition'. However, due to the well-shaped physiques of many Animalians, the sweaters were less ugly and more... pretty, after a fashion.
