Nothing happened to Dan. After a few more seconds waiting in silence, he said: Very funny, Kat.
Kat, for her part, grinned at her brother. The spell wasnīt intended to do anything to you instantly, Dan. It will work slowly on you. Or, better said, it will work as fast as you let it. But what it is, I wonīt tell you. Not that you try to stop it.
Dan felt nervous about that, but tried to hide it from Kat by shaking his head and leaving her room. He wouldnīt let her win that quarrel by showing his fear that it could be real. Sometimes, he was too gullible. Why would he fear something as crazy as her being a witch, anyway?
As Dan left, Katīs grin widened if possible. She had felt her spell working on Dan, and if she had not messed up anything, Dan would change like intended by her without him noticing for some time. Part of the spell would change her brotherīs behavior, a necessary step to ensure the spell working. After all, the spell she used would change him according to his behavior over time.
