Leah is wide awake. As Tina gets closer, she catches a whiff of a distinctive smell. She sighs.
“Did you mess yourself again?” she asks. Leah scowls.
“I had no choice. I’m still dressed like a boy, so I’m guessing you told everyone here I was a boy. So I couldn’t ask someone to take me to the bathroom. I have to act like a little diaper-wearing brat anyways.”
“Hmm.” Tina lifts Leah from the crib and brings her over to a nearby changing table. “This was an accident, then?”
“You really think I would poop myself on purpose?”
“After today, I can’t help but wonder if you’re doing just that,” Tina confesses, removing Leah’s pants. She takes off the messy diaper.
“It’s not an accident as in, I did it without realizing. I knew when I couldn’t hold it in anymore.”
“At your age, you should be able to hold it in much longer than you did,” Tina says firmly. She begins to wipe Leah down. “You’ve already pooped twice today.”
“I think I’m still processing the laxatives you gave me earlier,” Leah hisses. Tina lifts Leah’s butt and slides a fresh diaper under her. “I’m not suddenly un-potty trained. I had warning, I just couldn’t do anything with that warning!”
“How much warning did you have before you couldn’t hold it in?” Tina asks pointedly. Leah goes quiet. “Not very much, I’m guessing.”
“Laxatives work like that.”
“Not this long after you’ve taken them, and after you’ve pooped twice,” Tina says. She tapes the diaper on and redresses Leah. “For the rest of the day and at night, I want you to wear a diaper. Just in case. We’ll go home right away so that you don’t have to worry about asking for the toilet.” Leah nods. “If you make it through the rest of today and tonight without any accidents, you can go to school like usual tomorrow. But if you have an accident, wet or mess, you’re in diapers until you have a full 24 hours with a dry diaper. Got it?”
“Got it,” Leah says confidently. “I can make it the rest of the day.”
“What about the rest of the night?” Tina asks. Leah smirks.
“Easy.”
“All right.” Tina picks Leah up off the changing table. “We’ll see what happens.”
