"I can't stand to see pain, err things in pain?" I said struggling to find better words. "Your foot, people's attitudes or bodies, diseases, even relationships that just need a tiny bit of guidance to bring joy instead of hurt," I gave up on trying to explain, "I wish you were completely restored and had any modifications to your body that you wanted."
The creature looked at me in what could only be described as excited shock, "You wish me, what?"
Before I could answer a golden glow poured out from Yuna's wounded paw. The bandage ignited by the power of the radiance and fell away as the wounds healed and new fur grew out. The glow didn't disappear though, it traveled up her leg into her chest. The fox was lifted up until its hind legs were off the ground. Yuna's face was hard to read but I guessed it was something between excitement and confusion. The radiance pulsated audibly and extended throughout her body in waves that became faster and faster until her entire body was glowing. I stood in concern once Yuma began making pained noises, I reached out but there was an explosion and I was thrown across the room, slid across the dining room table, and slammed into the wall a good 20 feet away before things went black.
"Human, you have been healed, can you hear me?" I awoke on my couch. The same couch I last recalled being flung over like a rag doll. "What happened?" I asked cautiously.
"You restored me," Yumi replied with glee.
"Do all the wishes you grant involve explosions?" I asked sitting up, expecting a headache but finding none... "Yumi? You have many many tails now. Is that what foxes find sexy?" I joked not realizing the significance and assuming that was the body modifications she chose. I then realized that although unwounded, my shirt on the arm I was extending when she exploded was burned away up to my bicep and the rug, floor, and wall had scorch marks where she was floating.
"Power is derived from the purity of the wish, your deepest desire is to see all of creation healed... From a wayward animal to human society. You were given more than you needed and without hesitation used it where you thought it would be helpful. Despite efficiency, you catered to the immediate need. In doing so, your accidental phrasing to restore me completely, rather than simply heal my leg, has broken a curse limiting my access to my divine powers which would have slain me within the next few years."
"A fox goddess?" I asked dumbfounded.
"Animal 'society' is simply fitting into the food chain, human society is often much more complicated. Goddess will do, but whatever my form, my newly freed divine nature will shine through. Twice now you have done what I alone could not. You are a creature of love, the likes of which I've not seen in centuries. I see now what must be. You shall be blessed and cursed. The world needs you, but to fix pain you must see it, and that will hurt you. Please forgive me."
Yuna arose as the most beautiful woman I could imagine. She placed her hand on my chest and I felt like I was again flung out, but this time didn't hit anything. Instead, the world became more abstract, but in phases that I couldn't begin to describe.
"This should only take a moment, I brought you to the ninth dimension to reweave you."
My sense of time, motion, and reality was entirely gone I could feel myself being poked and prodded in ways beyond my comprehension but deep in the core of my being, there was momentary pain, pulling sensations, fear, colors, falling.
Before I knew it, I was able to perceive things normally in time to feel myself land on my couch heavily.
Yuna looked down on me, all at once the most intimidating and beautiful thing I've ever seen. "I must go human, I hope you find the same joy you've brought me and the same peace you will give to others, but I doubt it's possible now." she smiled and a tear rolled down her cheek, she bent over and I recoiled in terror. She smiled sadly and vanished. Her tear instantly solidified into a diamond and fell to the floor.
After she left I regained my bearings slowly and realized the damage she caused, the couch, wall, and rug were partially disintegrated/burned. realizing I was right next to her I ran to the bathroom. I looked like my normal self though I felt very different in ways I couldn't describe...
I went back to the destruction and collapsed in confusion, muttering to the empty room, "What just happened?"
