Jeff stepped out of the closet which had the same effect when he activated the program, the world again went gray. "Okay, I'm outside normal time now..." Jeff thought his entire visit would be outside time, not just entering and exiting, but realistically, how would new people be able to enter if time was frozen the whole duration?
Jeff didn't bother watching the weird effect opting for what the computer could teach him instead. There was a popup covering the screen making the rest of the desktop hazy and unreachable.

Jeff accepted the warning, and the next popup showed that 2 traits had been copied by someone else, and thanked him. He clicked okay and was very curious to know who took what, and what the AI version of himself was doing or said during the transaction, but no more information was offered.
The next screen listed all the traits he accepted and offered options to apply, remove, and alter reality. The remove option was grayed out (the only color in this world was now him and the Chronivac program and emitter). Jeff thought this was where he truly accepted or rejected traits but it appears adding things to his profile is an immediate final confirmation, thankfully he didn't try out that full-back tattoo for kicks, he would have clicked accept to simply not carry something around.
Enabling the alter reality options he clicked to accept and after blinking realized the world was back to normal. "So, how do I know how to cook?" New memories of engaging with his mom or various neighbors flooded his memory going all the way back to when he was very young. Watching his mom cook and asking countless questions, visiting friends and learning proper whisking and other techniques while walking past their cooking family member.
Similarly finding memories of spending time with his dad in the garage, or stopping to greet neighbors while riding his bike and asking what they're doing and how things worked. Over the years the pieces worked themselves together in his mind, a tiny bit of time which was otherwise wasted was reallocated to YouTubing the skills and googling recipes analyzing what their ingredients are. Things suddenly all clicked together. Jeff knew he could take over dinner tonight for his mom and could give his dad's vehicle a satisfactory oil change.
Now feeling much more confident in using the white room he reactivated the package and went back in with some specific goals...
