Theresa finally had a moment to collect herself after the somewhat whirlwind of an evening with Lars. The hopefully final local on their evening was a hot beverage bar located near the resort but far enough away that it catered to more than just the normal visitors. The time has passed so quickly, she barely had time to think about the collection troubles waiting for her. Lars seemed to have an almost infinite energy and enthusiasm that she could not shake and though she hated to admit it, the distraction had been much needed and surprisingly helpful.
She glanced toward the fox waited in the short line to gather their drink order, thinking again of the odd, exotic attractiveness in his werefox form that was lacking in his human form. Not just him either; but many of the animal people they had met that evening held the same quality if she allowed herself to begrudgingly admit it... if only to herself.
While waiting, her eyes drifting across the clientele of the small bar, the small bell on the door announced another guest entering. Theresa glanced over curious and felt her breathe catch for a moment. Standing in the door was one of the rarer species. The thick luxurious fur mottled with beautiful stormy grey rosettes. Tall and lean but with a corded strength shifting under the furred pelt. Taller than Lars and built more strongly, he was still shorter than the towering reindeer. His eyes were mesmerizing, a deep blue that seemed to go on forever and sparkled with intensity as he took in the room. His eyes momentarily falling on her before smiling and proceeding to the counter. Theresa couldn't help but stare at the fluid, powerful grace he seemed to exhibit as he strode purposefully toward the bar.
It took her a few moments to realize that Lars had returned or that he had set a hot pint of famous North Pole hot chocolate in front of her much less that he was speaking to her. Lars grinned a little when she finally seemed to snap back to reality, though he couldn't help but notice her eyes drifting toward the long fluffy snow leopard tail and its bushy tip which kept flicking back and forth.
Theresa clears her throat, "Ah.. Sorry. Um, what were you saying?"
Lars grins, "I was saying here is your drink but I think there is something else you would like to know." His eyes were sparkling with mischievousness but also sincerity and caring as he leaned in a little closer, "Fannar. Is his name." He made a subtle motion toward the snow leopard in line.
Theresa was just about to take a sip of her drink before Lars spoke and she almost choked as she coughed and used a napkin to hide and wipe her mouth. "Ah, who, I mean...you know him?"
Lars nods, "Yes! Though not well. He is unique and that is something made even more rare to be said of being here, Ei?"
Theresa's eyes wandered back despite her best efforts, "That rare? And you said his name was Fannar?"
Lars nods, sipping his own warming drink with a smile. Perhaps, just perhaps, he would have some interesting news to share with his Tommy very soon.
