As Janet continued to stare at her reflection, she became more and more comfortable in her Alice in Wonderland costume. While she hadn't intended on using the amulet's power for something like this, Janet was enjoying her happy accidental change. In fact, this was the first in a long time that she had felt comfortable with her appearance.
After a minute in front of the mirror, Janet walked down the main hallway and into the living room with the Alice book in her hands. She sat down in the brown recliner chair in front of the tv and opened the book. But before she could start reading however, Janet suddenly remembered that she had already spent her childhood days reading Alice in Wonderland dressed as Alice. So doing it again as a teenager would feel kinda redundant, especially considering that she was still wearing the amulet around her neck.
That was when Janet got struck with an epiphany. If she used the amulet's power to give herself Alice's personality, then it would make her story a lot more interesting to read.
"I didn't want to make any changes to my personality, but I'm already dressed as Alice and this is too good of an opportunity not to pass up. I just need to make sure that I'm still me and not Alice when I change. Not that I'm worried about any distractions since I'm the only one home right now. So what could possibly go wrong?" Janet thought out loud.
Janet then closed her eyes and began to concentrate on mentally becoming Alice, causing the amulet to glow.
"Okay amulet, listen carefully. I want to literately think, act, and behave in the exact same manner as Alice in Wonderland. But-"
*HONK*
Janet was startled by the sound of a semi-truck driving past her house and lost her concentration.
"Damn those creeps, they always drive too fast around here. Why can't they just ... just ... woah ... oh ... oh my ... my head ... it feels so ... peculiar."
Janet found her head buzzing and her thoughts getting blurry. She saw the amulet glowing and realized she had to finish her command or else lose herself forever. Janet closed her eyes and tried to concentrate with all her might.
"Amulet! ... Listen to ... to me ... I must re- ... remember that ... that I was ... that I'm ... I'm ... I'm ... Alice?"
The amulet glowed even brighter and knocked Janet into unconsciousness.
It was an hour later before she could regained consciousness and open her eyes. Because of the distraction and the unfinished spell, the girl had completely forgotten that she use to be Janet and was now thought of herself as Alice. Alice then gets out of the chair and straightens out her dress and apron.
"My goodness, that was quite the experience. But I don't seem to have changed at all. Perhaps I wasn't clear enough." Alice said to herself in a british accent.
Alice then notices the book on the floor next to the chair and considers reading it, but decides not to.
"Why would I want to read from a book with no pictures in it?"
