As Janet continued to stare at her reflection, she became more and more comfortable in her Alice in Wonderland costume. While she hadn't intended on using the amulet's power for something like this, Janet was enjoying her happy accidental change. In fact, this was the first in a long time that she had felt comfortable with her appearance.
After a minute in front of the mirror, Janet walked down the main hallway and into the living room with the Alice book in her hands. She sat down in the brown recliner chair in front of the tv and opened the book. But before she could start reading however, Janet suddenly remembered that she had already spent her childhood days reading Alice in Wonderland dressed as Alice. So doing it again as a teenager would feel kinda redundant, especially considering that she was still wearing the amulet around her neck.
That was when Janet got struck with an epiphany. If she used the amulet's power to give herself Alice's personality, then it would make her story a lot more interesting to read.
"I didn't want to make any changes to my personality, but I'm already dressed as Alice and this is too good of an opportunity not to pass up. I just need to make sure that I'm still me and not Alice when I change. Not that I'm worried about any distractions since I'm the only one home right now. So what could possibly go wrong?" Janet thought out loud.
Janet then closed her eyes and began to concentrate on mentally becoming Alice, causing the amulet to glow.
"Okay amulet, listen carefully. I want to think, act, and behave in the exact same manner as Alice in Wonderland. But I still want to be myself as Janet underneath my new persona."
The amulet flashed a bit and Janet began to fell relaxed as her head started to tingle. After several seconds, the amulet stopped glowing and the tingling in Janet head ceased. Janet opened her eyes and finds herself sitting like a proper young lady.
"Curious, I hadn't realized that I had adjusted my sitting position. I wonder how I managed to- {gasps}. My goodness! I don't sound anything like my old self at all. That is to say that it's still my voice, but now I'm speaking with a proper british accent and in a very polite manner I might add. I must say that I wasn't expecting my changes to be so drastic though. Perhaps I should have considered this possibility when I agreed to these changes. Oh dear, curse my lack of foresight. I shall be punished for my incompetence."
After having a lengthy conversation with herself, Janet began to laugh out loud at her unusual situation.
"{ceases giggling} Oh my, well I'm definitely not pretending anymore. I truly am exactly like Alice in Wonderland now. This is going to be quite the adventure."
Janet then gets up out of the chair and straightens her dress and apron, planning her next course of action.
