After spending a good half hour trying on clothes, the two thirty-something women came out of the store with a whole new look.
Laura had opted for a style that suited her character and style, a pastel pink satin shirt tucked into tight navy blue pants that showed off her long legs, and new heels that replaced her work shoes.
Kaitlin had turned to a more casual style without putting too much emphasis on her curves, a long orange dress with belted pleats and long sleeves with over a beige wool sweater that was perfectly suited with her honey-colored hair. However, unlike his friend she wore only simple ballerinas to the feet.
"Woah it was crazy, we should do it again tomorrow"
"Totally! There are so many styles that I haven't had time to try!"
"For now let's focus on the next destination, so what do you want to do?"
"Well you're the dean so I'll leave it up to you Kat" Laura laughed to which Kaitlin responded by grabbing her die from Laura's hands and throwing it on the floor.
"Hey cheater!" Laura laughed and did the same for her die.
"Thirty-one years and twenty-nine years you have walked this earth, now those numbers are only twenty-six and twenty-eight. Each roll of the die shall return more of what has been lost."
Laura giggled as the orbs of light did their work but the changes were barely noticeable as Kaitlin felt the greater effects, she let out a small murmur as her skin smoothed out even more at the touch of the dress, her breasts becoming even more perkier than before and her waist getting thinner and thinner, leaving her at twenty-six.
"Welcome to your twenties" her friend said, then they both laughed for no apparent reason.
"Well since I'm the oldest I'll decide the next direction...mmh how about the movies?"
"I'm in, let's go!"
On the way, the two friends were interrupted by a photographer who complimented them on their appearance and offered to take pictures of them, which they naturally accepted and a long shooting session took place in various beautiful places in the city. The two young women even managed rather well despite their inexpertise in the field.
"You can't imagine how happy I am right now, Kat.
"Same, I feel like one of those young women on social media you know."
"Although maybe we're a little too old to compare ourselves to them don't you think-" at this last sentence, Laura took a hand out of her pants pocket to make a gesture but without doing so on purpose took Kaitlin's dice with it which rolled against the floor to finally fall on number 4.
"Oups sorryyyy" Laura said guiltlessly.
"Twenty-six years you have walked on this earth, now this number is but twenty-two. Each roll of the die shall return more of what has been lost."
As they were supposed to pose for one last shoot, Kaitlin excused herself and quickly walked out of the photographer's view as the orbs of light began to appear around her.
"Sorry...uh my friend has an important appointment, it was really nice thanks." And Laura left to find her friend.
"Oh...okay" The photographer didn't know what to say except imagine that such a beautiful woman has more important things to do.
Laura caught up with her friend further, in a few moments her appearance had changed more radically than the other times, her face had lost maturity and was bordering on that of adolescence, her hair was even more radiant and her hips had thinned out again as had her stomach. Her breasts had reduced in size a little but they still looked the same. She looked more like a ninth grade student than a working woman.
"Are you okay?" asked Laura.
"Yeah I'm great but I think we should be a little careful from now on, I don't really want to go back to school." Kaitlin replied as she tightened the belt around her dress.
"Don't worry, the mature and responsible young woman that I am will take care of you if that happens " Laura said with a slightly mocking tone, which made her friend laugh. "Come on, the cinema is only a few steps away."
