Todd decided to ease up to the bar where the line anthro was cleaning a glass while watching the crowd. Getting closer to the bar, he got a good view waist up of what the bartender looked like. It was a fennec fox with white fur, a green pearl earring, pink eyeshadow, thin eyeliner, a pink button-up, and a floral print belt. He couldn’t see from the waist down, but the anthro seemed female, so he went with female pronouns for now.
“Hey beautiful, wanna take a break and hit the dance floor with me?” The fox looked at him, then turned back to the crowd. “I can’t dance while on my shift, not while I’m the only one bartending tonight.” The high-pitch voice almost guaranteed his assumption, but he didn’t want to claim his victory yet, so he kept talking. “I see. Well, do you mind if I keep you company for a while? I probably went a little too hard on the floor and need to cool down a little.” He fanned himself in an exaggerated way, eliciting a giggle from the bartender. The fox looked at him directly, “You’re definitely welcomed to it sir. I definitely appreciate company.” He mentally high-fives himself for nailing the conversation so he could get to know the bartender better, now all that was left was to solidify his intent.
After a normal conversation, Todd found out that the bartender’s name was Chrys (short for Chrystal), and the bar had the dancers and bartenders switch shifts sometimes. Green and pink was their favorite color combo and their dancer name was Bubble Beach. He also got close enough to find out that Chrys was non-binary and carried a pretty large package despite liking makeup and preferring more feminine fits. Their favorite feature was their ass and despite the popularity of their dancing career, they’ve never actually been with anyone. They laughed and had a few drinks between the two of them as Todd started to get real with Chrys.
T- “So what’s your life like outside of work?”
C- “Nothing much to tell, I cook a meal, play a game, and go to bed. Strict diet to keep all this looking like it does. (They slap their ass teasing him).”
T- “Right, it’s just you? No roommates, no parents, no siblings, no one?”
C- “As soon as I came out, my parents basically disowned me, my siblings are hard under their thumb to keep them from ending up like me, and the minute my roommate found out I like to dress feminine, they cleaned up their stuff and left. I make enough to handle the rent myself, but it helps to not be so lonely.”
T- “Well, you seem pretty cool to me, mind having me over for a night? Could probably use a shower though…”
C- blushing “I-I-I mean sure! Of course, yes. My shift ends in 30 minutes. I’ll clean up and you can follow me.”
Todd watched Chrys’ pants tent outward. There was definitely something going on, and he just skipped a few steps in the dating rule book, but at the very least, he felt like a one night stand was imminent. Todd walked outside the bar and waited for his date. At least, he felt like it was a date. How else could he describe spending time in the home of someone who likes him?
