Stilled his breath, focusing all his strength in quick, precise movements. Three approaching from the front. Since they were coming straight at him, getting headshots on them was just like training. Grabbing his machete, he took a step and turned to get some momentum. Taking a quick glance at his surroundings, he gave a strong back kick to the wolf trying to lunge at him from behind before clearing a few more wolves in front of him. He just barely avoided two of them leaping at him, intending to bite into his neck while the pack took turns tearing him limb from limb, but he had an unusually smooth and quick reflex to his movements. He made quick work of the entire pack until there was nothing but corpses and blood left. With a raspy, throated scream, Tony knelt to the ground and claimed his victory. It was a hollow victory as he had lost not only his friends, but his reason to keep going. After enough screaming and crying over the lost souls, he dragged himself back into the woods, where he heard more howls of wolves. Sadness and rage filled his heart, he knew he had to end this. So he picked up his machete, reloaded his pistol with the remaining magazine, and limbered into the woods.

The town recovered and everyone is back to living their normal lives. The woods are now gated with metal fencing. There’s a park ranger that has extended to the newly dubbed “Wolfless Woods”. Some say there is a eerie cry heard from the woods, but no howling. Even dogs fear going near the woods. No one has seen or heard from Tony in years, and the camping crew that once followed him were said to have been mauled to death by wolves. On the coldest winter, it is deemed safe to explore these woods as you can travel up to a certain point and spot three unmarked graves. It is the only time when the cries silence and the moment when time stands still, an emptiness taking up the space where there once was life. You can’t help but shed a tear as the sadness from loss overtakes the area. No one stays longer than a few minutes before returning, but all that venture in at that day feel the pain and suffering of the one they call the Wolf Hunter. He loves only to kill the pack animals that stole his life and those he loved. Anyone that hears a wolf howl, only hears one, and then followed by silence. Such is the tale of the one they call
