Elise turned back toward the computer, trying to obey, but her fingers were locking up, and she couldn't move them. She looked down. "My clothes are gone..." She suddenly shrugged....it no longer seemed important. A collar appeared around her neck, with a small tag on it.
She rose up on her hands and knees, her tongue flopping out of her mouth. She was going somewhere...somewhere important...but...
Jeff pulled himself into the chair, his legs returning. His front legs were rapidly reforming into hands, which he placed on the keyboard.
A few moments later, the Chronovac finished its work. Jeff looked down shakily at Elise, who was suddenly lying there with a blank look on her face. Before she'd clicked a button, she'd been preparing for college. Now...
The Chronovac software was gone. He googled Transdem Labs, to see if he could get another copy. An article came up. They'd gone out of business three years earlier.
