Some weeks later, Mike decided enough was enough. He had never really had two parents before. He wanted to get Marcus (his Dad and roommate) and Conor (his Pops, with a pussy) together. His spell to make them fall in love should eventually work, but it wouldn't hurt to help it along.
"Dad," he said, "you know, I've been thinking. I've never really seen a football game here in this realm. I know the first game of the season is starting, so why don't you, me, and Pops all go see it together?"
"No, Mike, I won't! I know you think of it differently, but the whole thing with Conor and me and you was just a prank. I don't even like guys that way."
"Look, I'm not asking you to do it because you like him, I'm asking you to do it for me. I want to be with both of you. Even if we're not a family, could you act like it just once?"
"I... It's hard for me to understand how you feel, Mike. I mean I'm your father but I never knew you until now. At least Conor was able to be with you growing up... Okay. Just this once.
Later he was eating lunch in the cafeteria, with Conor.
"Pops," he said, "you know, I've been thinking. I've never really seen a football game here in this realm. I know the first game of the season is starting, so why don't you, me, and Dad all go see it together?"
"I think that idea sucks!" said Conor. "You're my son, but that doesn't make him my husband. I just conceived you as part of a prank. We didn't have anything going with each other, we don't even like guys that way."
"Look, I'm not asking you to do it because you like him, I'm asking you to do it for me. I want to be with both of you. Even if we're not a family, could you act like it just once?"
"I... Wait, Mike, did Marcus agree to this?"
"Sure he did, Pops, I just needed to get you to agree."
"Well, just this once, okay?"
So at the game, Marcus and Mike waited. Soon Conor showed up.
"Hi Pops!" said Mike, hugging Conor.
Marcus and Conor just glared at each other, though.
"Come on!" said Mike. "Dad, Pops, you two should at least be nice to each other. Here's the tickets." He held up three tickets.
The three teenaged guys walked into the stadium. Nobody would have guessed that they were parents and son. Marcus and Conor insisted on sitting with Mike between them, but Mike would have none of it, and Marcus and Conor ended up sitting together. Would that be enough for the spell to work, wondered Mike?
