As Ollie stared into the mirror, entranced by his luxurious eyes, he unknowingly started to get sleepy. VERY sleepy. Within a minute he collapsed dramatically onto Katie's bed, and fell fast asleep. Unbeknownst to him, as he fell onto the bed his shoes fell off of his feet, and his body started to change.
In his dreams Ollie dreamt of Katie, and even though he knew he still was a 23 year old man, he couldn't help but feel a deep love towards Katie. It's as if all he could think about is Katie, as if she is the most important thing in his life, almost like his saviour, which was very confusing to him. He only knew her for a couple of minutes. It's probably just those adolescent urges, I can change back soon.
When Ollie starts to wake up again he feels very strange. Not to say that being a young anthro bird wasn't strange, but he felt even more off than before. In his dreamy, hazy state, he realised he was standing upright, and that he was gripping something by his feet. Confused, he tried to rub his eyes to wake up, but he couldn't. It was like he was rubbing his eyes with a sheet, a thick, strong sheet. Eventually he opened his eyes, and what he saw nearly made him drop dead with fright. He was still in Katie's room, but he was absolutely tiny. The room looked ten times bigger than it did before.
He wasn't able to see Katie though, and the thought of this made him go into utter panic. He had no idea why but the thought of not being with Katie was heartbreaking to him. 'Must be those adolescent urges again', he tried to say, but all that came out of his mouth was a chirp. A chirp. 'What, why can't I talk?!' he tried to say again, but all he could so was chirp. At this point his situation becomes startlingly clear to Ollie. He was in a small bird cage in Katie's room. That's why everything was so small. He was sitting on her desk, trapped in a cage. He must've had his shoes come off when he fell asleep, and he ended up as a bird. And from the sounds of it, and the looks of it in Katie's mirror, a Canary bird.
'This has to be a mistake', Ollie thought frantically. 'Katie will be back soon, and she'll know something is up, she didn't have a Canary when I flew in, she'll probably be as confused as me.' At this thought of hope, suddenly....
