As the bell rang signaling the end of the day, Felicia now found her way towards an empty room on the third floor. As part of the Prom Committee she would help in deciding on the location of this year's prom. Entering the room she was surprised to see she was the first one there, quickly taking an empty chair as she waited for the others.
"Excuse me is this the Prom Committee?"
Felicia turned, noticing a very cute red haired teen poking her head in. "Yeah looks like we're early," she said. "Cmon in." Cassidy nodded, making her way inside as she now sat in front of Felicia.
"You look familiar," Felicia stated, raising an eyebrow. "Haven't I seen you hanging around with Naomi and Diane."
"Yeah," Cassidy replied. "Gottrn to know them over the year. They were nice enough to get to know me when I moved here." Felicia nodded, a warm smile spreading across her face. "Any friend of those two is a friend of mine," she said. "I'm Felicia."
"Cassidy."
As the two teens now began to talk, they failed to notice both Wyatt and Kyra enter the room. Wyatt recognized Felicia immediately, the vampire prince had known Felicia in life. Felicia was a nice enough girl, always polite and friendly. Secretly he had a crush on her, when he was human.
Now though he had learned the girl was a wizard. For a brief moment he thought of turning her but quickly dismissed it. They were trying to keep a low profile. Already their vampire minions had moved into the surrounding area, causing the other wizards to venture off further and further from town. Now was not the time to draw attention to themselves. "Hey Cassidy," he said.
Felicia and Cassidy turned, the auburn haired vampire waving as Felicia now gazed at Wyatt. "Wyatt," she asked. "Oh wow good to see you. How have you been? I didn't know you were on the Prom Committee."
"I've been good," he smiled. "This is Kyra by the way. We kinda wanted to check things out. I mean doesn't hurt to have some extra curricular activities for college."
"Ain't that the truth," Felicia smiled.
As the three other members of the committee now entered, Wyatt tried to hide a smile. The committee consisted of seven students. A majority decision would determine the location of the prom. Wyatt already knew how Kyra, Cassidy and himself would vote. All they needed to do was convince Felicia and considering she already knew Wyatt and was warming up to Cassidy, it seemed like a sure thing.
"So," a male student stated. "We still need to decide on a location. I proposed last time we use the country club as we've done in years past."
An indifferent murmur now floated through the assembled group. Wyatt realizing this was his chance.
"I have an idea," he said. Wyatt now began his presentation, showing off pictures of the hotel they could use. It had a massive ballroom, a kitchen staff with a stellar reputation, and ample rooms and parking for attendees. More importantly, it was a location that the vampires knew like the back of there hand.
"I don't know it seems kind of expensive."
"If I could just add something," Cassidy stated, the teenage vampire now putting on an act. The girls thick accent on full display as she tried to present himself as a shy, self conscious, girl. All now turned their attention to her, Cassidy now hiding her smile. She was trying to play on their emotions to win them to her side.
"I know a way we can get the funding to rent this place," she said softly. "My dad would love nothing more than making sure his daughter had a great prom."
"Is it possible for someone outside the school to fund prom?"
"I think so. I'll just run it by the principal."
"I guess we could put it to a vote," Kyra added. "All in favor of the hotel raise your hand." Wyatt, Kyra, and Cassidy's hands immediately went into the air. The other members still unsure about the proposal. Wyatt now turned to Felicia, together he and Cassidy now gave the teen a pleading look. "Cmon Felicia," Wyatt asked. "Trust me."
Felicia sighed, flashing the three vampires a grin as her hand now rose. "I guess its settled then," the male student shrugged. "I'll ask the principal about funding and we'll book the hotel. Now onto this year's theme and decorations."
Wyatt, Kyra, and Cassidy didn't even listen as the committee deoned on. They had succeeded in the first part of their master plan.
