"It's a relief to know how it happened but I'm thinking we don't tell Max just yet. Let her stew on it. A couple of days as a woman might make him a better man"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes actually! A bit of exposure to the sexist world might open his eyes. He's inclined to be a bit of a chauvinist. What better way to demonstrate how a man should behave than to expose him to poor behaviour"
"Mm I like your thinking daughter. If your father had understood woman more he might have been a keeper"
"Dad was a violent alcoholic. You were right to leave him"
"But would he have been if he had experienced violence from the other side?"
"Mum I don't want to hurt Max. He's not violent. He just has outdated opinions on a woman's place"
"So what are you suggesting we expose Maxine to?"
"Everything we can think of. Being leered at, being propositioned, being expected to tow the line. There's a lot more. I say keep her as she is for a week and throw every experience we can at her"
"I'll write a list" suggested Shirley with a grin on her face.
