As you sat up in bed for a few minutes, you heard your cell phone ring on the bedside table. Last month, you combined both your parents and your own cell phone into one to make things easier, but made the contacts different colors and ringtones. Based on the pink color and sing-song ringtone, it was a call meant for your mom.
You grabbed the phone and your wireless headphones from the table and stuck them in your mom's ears, looking at the phone, you saw it was a video call from her friend Jess, so you answered with the camera trained on your mom's head.
"Hey Cath! How's the week been?!" Jess responded excitedly. Before the merger, your mom, Cathy, and Jess were the same ages, but Jess had remained the same age after the merger with her husband, fusing him with her chest and torso.
"Hey Jess! Week's been good! Mark's work has us running all over the place, but it's nice to have some time off this weekend." You responded through your mom's head, still keeping up appearances that your heads all still had separate identities.
"Tell me about it! Work has been such a mess since Johnny and I merged. Feels like I'm still just barely keeping my head afloat! Oh! Speaking of fusions, what are the boys up to?" Jess asked
You quickly made your original head and your dad's head feign being asleep while your mom's head turned the camera onto them.
"Sleeping the morning away. I swear, even being fused to them I can't stop them from being lazy!" Your moms head laughed
"Honestly! Even though Johnny needs me to help him with everything, It's like he doesn't want to even offer to help when I need it!" Jess laughed
"I'm right here, y'know!!" you heard Johnny respond from below the camera.
"Shush, you. It's all true and you know it. Anyways, I was calling to see if you and the boys wanted to come out for some brunch and bottomless mimosas at Jack's on the Pier in a few hours!" Jess asked, "I got off the phone with Carla and Michelle earlier and they're gonna join us. I even talked to Marie and convinced her to come out! We haven't seen her since the fusion! She's been hiding out and won't tell us how she got affected, so I'm really glad I got her to join us!"
Since you had no plans for the day and the bit of your mom inside your brain wanted to, you decided to say yes.
"Of course! Just gotta get the boys up and tell them. It's my day for the plans anyways!"
"Perfect!" Jess exclaimed, "I'll see you all and the girls there by 11. I've got reservations for outside in the back!"
