It was a given by now that Maureen would go walking with Liz every morning - so far as Roger knew. In reality Maureen just dressed in her gym wear and went around to Liz’s house. It was nice to not actually need to exercise to lose weight.
On the Tuesday morning Maureen got a shock when she knocked on the door. A woman’s voice told her “Come in” but it was not Liz’s voice. Maureen was confronted with another version of herself, when she entered.
“I used the medallion about 40 minutes ago” the former Liz informed her “With that red dress you left with me. I’m certainly you but how old am I?”
“What happened to my face? I look terrible”
“I’m guessing a lot too much sun. My shoulders are even worse. It’s fairly obvious you were wearing a one piece swim suit” Liz partially pulled off the silk robe she was wearing to reveal the bright red skin was not confined to her face.
“Is it hurting?”
“It’s not as bad as it looks. I guess it’s been a couple of days since the damage was done. I’m also guessing you didn’t attend a dinner dance looking like this. Surely you can remember when you got this badly roasted.
Maureen nodded “Yep. We had a family holiday by the beachside in Victoria. I was too busy making sure the kids were covered up and forgot about looking after myself. I remember I was shocked to find myself burnt as the day had been quite cloudy. I never felt the sun. I remember wallowing in the rented house for two days while Roger looked after the kids.”
“Do you recall what year that was? It would give a clue to my age”
“Not really. I recall the boys made a big sandcastle Andrew might have been 3 or 4. Roger would know he always recalls dates and things much better than I do. Perhaps I could ask him tonight”
“So this body would be 33 or 34. Probably about the right bracket”
“I guess. But you’re fat. Fatter than I am currently. That body couldn’t fit into a size 12 dress”
“I know. Why do you think I’m wearing a robe? I tried to wear the dress but it was way too tight I couldn’t even get it over these hips. I’m guessing you tried the dress on and found it too tight hence never wore it again. Why you would do that when you were sunburnt I have no idea”
“Hmm that could be right. I was about that age when my weight started to yoyo. I’m so sorry about this. Is there anything I can do?”
“I was just about to have a cold shower when I heard you pulling up. You can apply moisturiser all over me when I’m out and find me something I can wear”

While Maureen applied copious amounts of Liz’s moisturiser over her doppelgangers body Maureen expressed her ideas. “I know you are not willing to test out Roger’s clothes and understand your reluctance. I have a solution that I’d like to propose”
“Well I’m pretty much a captive audience at the moment so you may as well go ahead”
“I am willing to test out Roger’s clothes but I would have to hide over here at your house”
“Fine with me but where would you tell Roger you were? You would need to be away for at least 12 hours. I’d allow 14 in reality”
“I wouldn’t. You would have to be me again”
“I’m spending too much time being you. I’ve just got myself the perfect body and I can’t actually use it”
“It would probably best be for a couple of days”
Liz’s interest perked up. “And nights?”
“I think it would have to be”
“So I would need to be Maureen Manning once more and have all the perks that go with that?”
“What perks?”
“Sleeping with Roger”
“You did it before. He doesn’t snore too badly”
“I said perks. So you don’t mind me sleeping with Roger?”
“Not really. While you’re in my body you are Roger’s wife. He would expect you to sleep beside him. I don’t mind. He isn’t actually cheating”
Liz did not understand Maureen’s logic. “So you are saying I could have sex with him while I’m in your body?”
“Of course. You already have. Multiple times. Roger told me how much he enjoyed my extra enthusiasm. I appreciate that you washed the sheets”
If Liz wasn’t already red from the sunburn she would have blushed. “So your saying that in exchange for being you for several days I have your permission to make love to your husband?”
“Well he would be your husband so you wouldn’t need my permission. I think behaviour standards should apply to the body you are in. My only regret is the night I allowed Roger to have sex with me when I was you”
“Interesting perspective” Liz wasn’t sure she agreed, however the arrangement seemed to favour her. “Okay I will agree to that deal. When would you propose we do it?”
“We need to get my body sorted out first. You’re about the right age but I don’t like the fact that you are fat and sunburnt”
“Fat is easy to get rid of but is the medallion able to treat sunburn?”
“There were a couple of other items of mine in that box from the same period. You should try some of them first”
