Tom grimaced as the brown cat approached him. Despite shrinking to the size of a normal cat, Hannah was still several inches taller than him. Would she still have her memories? Would she recognize him? Or try to eat him? Rationalizing that running would likely result in a chase that she would win, Tom stood his ground as he looked up at the cat. "Hannah?"
The cat cocked her head and leaned closer. Tom felt a rough tongue shoot across his face.
"Ick!" He brought his hands up instinctively to guard himself. "Okay, so you still know me. I get it!"
Hannah purred and trotted back to her spot. She moved in a circle several times before nestling down into her crumpled shirt.
"You two are SO cute together!" Sue said with a mock girly impression. "I wish I had a camera!"
"I'm glad we don't," Dave snorted.
Tom rolled his turn and got five. He moved his token and pulled a card off the top of the stack. It was so big compared to him, he had to lay it on the floor to read it.
You go up a foot, but that is not all.
These wings can make up for not being tall.
The centaur slowly grew until his body was eighteen inches in height. Feeling pressure on his backside, he craned his neck to see a pair of wings emerging. Their feathers were the same dusty-brown color as his horse half, and they grew to a majestic wingspan. Folding them at his sides, Tom trotted off the board, now a bit too large to be walking all over it.
"Go ahead, Sue," he said.
