Buck awoke to banging on his door and his RA, Todd, calling for them to meet them in the common room. It was too early and classes won't start for a few days so why did he have to get up. Buck got out of bed and walked to the big window in his dorm then his eyes went wide as he looked outside. “They look too real to be in fursuits.” Buck muttered. Hussam rubbed his eyes and got out of bed to see what his roommate was talking about. Out on the big lawn were several hairy guys tossing a frisbee only they were catching it with their mouths. No, looking closer, that's not hair, that's fur. There are a bunch of dog guys running around. Buck fell back on his bed with a weird smile as he ran his hands through his sandy blond hair.
Justin busted into the room and slammed the door behind him looking like he just shit his pants. His eyes darted towards the window as he pushed Hussam aside and drew the blinds. “Dudes, I know this is going to sound crazy but there's a sleeping gorilla in my room!”. Hussam didn't know how to respond; he just opened the blinds and pointed at the anthropomorphic dogs playing outside.
Hussam and Justin stood by the window hyperventilating and freaking the heck out as Buck left the room to go looking for Tai but he didn't get far as something furry wrapped around his wrist. “Hey I know this is a lot to take in but if you go down to the common room another RA is giving a speech about what's going on here”. Buck turned around and looked at the tail wrapped around his hand. It was reddish-brown the same as, “Todd?”, Buck asked as his hand drifted to touch the tail still wrapping his hand.
Todd gave a big simian smile, showing off his fangs then proceeded to let Bucks arm go. “In the flesh, now why don’t you grab your friends and head down so I don't have to explain the whole animal people thing later”. Todd said while nodding towards the room Buck just left. Buck, grinning like a madman, started checking his body to see if anything about him had changed, nope, still completely human. “R-right, I’ll start heading down there, you wouldn’t have happened to see Tai yet have you?” Todd nodded, “Just let him sleep, my little bro isn’t much of a morning person.”. “Bro?” Buck questioned. “Adopted, but yeah. To be honest I couldn't wait to see the reaction his roommate had when they woke up and saw a hulking gorilla snoring in their room.” Buck pokes his head back into his room and sees Justin curled up on his bed in the fetal position. Ever since the two of them met in middle school Justin has always liked to put on a brave face and take the lead but Buck knows that for the most part it’s all an act and right now it shows. “He’s hiding under my blankets right now.”
The presentation in the common room was given by a zebra who said that essentially everyone here was in a different world from where they were yesterday. One full of Anthropomorphic people. And by the end of the semester each of them would transform into a random animal more or less. Buck felt like this was a dream come true. He would never admit it to anyone back home but he was a furry. While everyone was panicking about what was in store for them, Buck headed straight towards the one friend he had who was apparently already from this world.
As Buck entered Tai’s room he was blasted by the sound of Tai snoring. The Gorilla was huge compared to Buck, a complete 180 to the shot chinese kid Tai was yesterday. Buck felt a little bad about waking Tai up but if he had to get up at seven in the morning with all the freshmen for an existential crisis then so should Tai. Buck placed his hands on the gorilla’s furry black back and started petting Tai’s soft fur. Buck started just below Tai's neck as his hand passed over each of the gorilla’s impressive back muscles. Buck often believed he was straight but something about this masculine, animalistic man in front of him was doing something.Tai began to stir causing Buck to back up and sit on Justin’s bed. Tai was waking up.
