...the outside. You could see the dim moonlight peeking through the grate. Eagerly, you pushed it open and wiggled yourself free. Looking around, you found yourself back where you started - the amusement park stood before you in ruins, devoid of people. It took no genius to figure out most of their fates, you hoisted yourself onto all fours and booked for the entrance.
Your hands stung for a moment as they plattered alongside your hindhooves, but soon the pain went away as your nails thickened and merged into a set of hooves. You brayed in joy as you pushed yourself to go faster, ears and tail whipping freely in the wind. Your neck stretched out, balancing your body out perfectly as your shoulders and hips reshaped into something more appropriate for galloping. You bursted through the front gates, hee-hawing in triumph as the last of your human wits faded away.
Fortunately for you, the staff had already given up their search and left. But by the time you stepped out of the park, you were indistinguishable from a regular donkey. The changes had finally run its course, leaving behind a jackass in torn clothing. The jack slowed to a stop at the docks and stood there in confusion, pondering for a moment on what he was doing before trotting off to find something to eat.
