After a walk through the neighborhood, Darren and Steph now found themselves heading back to his neighborhood. Darren still had alot on his mind but he felt the latest Soul Drives would prove to be a positive for the future.
"Hey you want to see if Hannah is up?"
Darren nodded, Hannah was an early riser and her parents worked weekends, meaning she had the place to herself. Checking his watch Darren noted it was close to 10 a.m. "Good idea let's see what she's up to."
Knocking on Hannah's door, it only took the teenage Soul Drive a moment to answer. Hannah appeared to have shape-shifted into human form as the teen now wore a pair of sleep pants and a tshirt. Darren stifling a chuckle as he stared at Hannah's mussed hair. "Nice hair."
"Oh ha ha," Hannah grumbled. "You know I was about to take a shower before you knocked. What are you doing here so early?"
"Was just taking a walk and wanted to see what you were up too," Darren replied. Hannah nodded, the shape shifting teen now glancing behind her friends. "So you watching the kits today or something?"
Darren paused, uncertain as he turned to where Hannah was looking. Darren's eyes going wide as he noticed the two kitsune kits. "What are you two doing here," Darren whispered, alarmed that two anthro fox children now stood in the middle of his neighborhood. "You need to stay hidden! People don't exactly know what a kitsune is you know."
Raiden and Sachiko now looked between eachother before sheepishly looking at Darren. "We um needed to talk with you Darren," Sachiko said meekly.
"Theres some people who uh want to meet you," Raiden added. Darren, Steph, and Hannah now gave the two kits a curious look. As Raiden and Sachiko now beckoned their friends forward, the teens jaws dropped in shock.
"Hey Darren," Gail blushed. "Umm we wanted to talk to you about the um Catalyst."
"You told them I'm the Catalyst!"
"No we kind of figured it out," Stella said quickly. "Can we talk, privately?"
"Wait you want to talk," Hannah exclaimed. The teen prodigies nodded, gesturing towards Hannah's home. "Wait our teachers want to hangout in My House!"
"Well we can't just stay out here Hannah," Darren sighed. "We're gonna draw alot of attention." Hannah sputtered, trying to come up with a counter arguement before sighing in defeat. "Okay fine," she grumbled. "But its a weekend and my house. Your teacher powers have no affect on me here!"
"Um right," Pam replied, raising an eyebrow as the group now quickly hurried inside. As the teen teachers now filed inside, they couldn't help but feel slightly apprehensive at the idea of hanging out in one of their students homes. Even stranger was the fact they were hanging out with a wizard, two Soul Drives, and a pair of kitsune kits.
"Make sure you take your shoes off before you come in," Hannah demanded as she folded her arms across her chest. "But Darren didn't take his shoes off," Gail stated.
"Ah my house my rules," Hannah stated. The prodigies looking at one another before kicking their shoes off. Hannah now smirked as she gazed at Gail's neon pink kitten socks. "Nice socks Gail," she teased.
"Hannah," Darren sighed. "Stop messing with them. Its not Gail's fault you got a B minus on last weeks test." A chuckle now began to stir amongst the teens as Hannah frowned. Darren now turned to his teachers and the kits. He had not anticipated having to eventually talk with his teachers outside of school. Then again he never expected to have teachers his age. It was surreal for the teen to be sitting here with teachers who were more like peers. Peers that had figured out his secret.
"So what do you know?"
"Well," Ewart stated as he stepped forward. "We figured out that their was something going on with you. We've been to Sachikos home."
"And we knew about you and Misaki," Neela added. "And since Misaki lives with Sachiko we put two and two together."
"I mean we are geniuses," Stella shrugged. "But the thing we couldn't figure out was what. Until we confronted Sachiko and Raiden about what we knew."
Darren furrowed his brow, glancing at the two kits who now shifted in place. "It wasn't there fault in case you wondering," Pam said quickly. "They confirmed everything we knew. Thats when we asked to meet you."
Darren sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose as he sunk onto the couch. He was worried enough about his friends, bringing his teachers into the mix only increased his anxiety. The Normal wanted him dead, what if they targeted his teachers as well? Then again they were obviously smart and capable. They could make valuable allies. Even if it did mean they could give him detention.
"Yeah," Darren sighed. "I know magic. Apparently I'm something called a Catalyst. Kind of a once in hundred years wizard that can change the world. But things right now are really dangerous. I don't want to put anyone at risk."
"We understand," Ewart stated. "And its respectable honestly. Can't imagine what you've been dealing with."
"But we're always here to talk," Gail said.
"Doea that mean you won't give us detention," Hannah blurted. The teens now paused, before bursting i to laughter. They had reached a rather odd understanding in their acquaintance. Still, it never hurt to have more friends. "Its a fair question," Hannah grinned.
"So does this mean we're all friends," Raiden asked. The teens now paused, unsure of how to answer that question. "I suppose," Stella shrugged. "But we have to kind of keep it quiet."
"At least until the end of the school year," Pam added. "Next year will be easier when you all go to high school."
"I do have one question," Gail said softly. "Can...can you show us some magic?" Darren smiled, gazing at his odd new friends. He could definitely show them what he could do, the only question was what?
