Jeff put his front paws up on his Mom, wanting to greet her. "Jeff," she said, sternly. "Down..."
"Sweetie," she said to his sister. "Why don't you take Jeff for his walk while Sally and I put away the groceries?"
"I guess, Mom..." She looked time. "C'mon, Jeff....it's walk time..." she cooed at him.
Jeff barked enthusiastically...he was going for a walk...he liked walks, didn't he?
Sally finished bringing in several loads of groceries. "Where's Jeff?" She asked, looking around.
"I didn't want him to get at the groceries, and it was close to time for his walk, so I sent your sister to do it."
"Oh," Sally said. "Did you notice anything strange about him today?"
"No,' she frowned. "Why? Is he sick? Does he need a vet?"
"No....just, you know Jeff..." she said.
"Yes, I know he can be a bit of a handful...but he behaves...generally."
