“…a girl. It’s been a while since I’ve had a daughter,” Robert said. “Helen always gets so happy when she has a temporary niece to dress up. And this way, you won’t have to borrow Jimmy’s clothes.” Robert snapped his fingers. “Roberta Jones, aka Bobbi with an I, are you ready to go to the park?”
“Yes,” Bobbi squeaked around her pacifier.
“I think you need to have a good look at yourself first.” Robert picked Bobbi up and carried her into the bathroom, holding her up to the mirror. Bobbi’s T-shirt and shorts had been replaced with a sparkly pink dress, too short to fully cover her now princess-patterned diaper. Bobbi was the spitting image of Helen, with curly black hair in pigtails, hazel eyes, and an adorable button nose. “Actually, we are going to an amusement park with princesses. You should match all the other little girls that will be there.”
Robert set Bobbi on the bathroom counter and snapped his fingers. Bobbi’s dress became even more sparkly and frilly, the picture of a cartoon princess. The dress was now long enough to cover her diaper, but Bobbi could tell she had a visible diaper bulge and would rustle with every movement. Adding insult to injury, a sparkly pink tiara appeared on her head. Even her pacifier was now pink and sparkly.
“Perfect! Princess Bobbi is ready to go play!” Robert said happily. He picked Bobbi up, grabbed the now girly diaper bag, and exited the hotel room. When they got outside the hotel, an expensive-looking car was waiting for them. Robert got into the backseat. “That car seat won’t do.” Robert snapped his fingers. The car seat became patterned with princesses like Bobbi’s diaper. “That’s better.”
“I warned you,” Jimmy, who was sitting next to the car seat, said quietly as Robert buckled Bobbi into the car seat. Bobbi looked at him. Jimmy leaned over to whisper to Bobbi. “If you upset him anymore, he’ll do something even worse, but keep you a girl. So be on your best behavior, no matter how embarrassing it is. Act like a toddler girl. Got it?” Bobbi nodded fearfully.
“Aw, did someone misbehave?” Helen, who was sitting on the other side of Jimmy, cooed. She smiled. “I’m not that upset. It’s been too long since I’ve had a temporary niece.” Helen clapped her hands. “Ooh, we’ll have so much fun at the park! I can take little Bobbi to the princess area.”
“I’m not sure,” Robert said as he got into the passenger seat. “I was thinking it might be nice to drop her off at the park daycare.” Jimmy cleared his throat. “Yes, Jimmy?”
“I think it might be fun if she comes with us.”
“She won’t be able to ride any of the rides you like,” Helen said.
“Yeah, but she can watch.”
“I have a suggestion,” the driver said suddenly. He turned around to face Bobbi. “Hi, Bobbi. I’m your Uncle Charles until you’re back to normal. What do you want to do at the park?” Bobbi suckled on her pacifier, trying to decide. None of the options were ideal, but surely one was better than the others?
