No one's entirely sure where it started, but the government is trying to keep it under control with very little luck.
It started about ten years ago when a new drug hit the streets of New York and Chicago called Lobo. Its not clear exactly how many people were infected in the early days, or where it came from. Most people assume that it was created by a Drug Cartel, though once the full effects of the drug came to light, no one's entirely sure why they would've done that.
Lobo's effects put the person who takes it in a full on feral mode where they will often go on a rampage. It's highly addictive, with victims becoming more and more reliant on it in order to get their fix. It's not until this point where its full effects became apparent where they would outright transform into Werewolves and bite, or fuck, anyone they could get their claws on. Once the high is over they'd transform back, but their addiction is so strong that they seek out ways to transform again and again before falling into a permanent state of transformation and completely give into the beast on an overdose. As the drug spread, entire nations fell under the control of the Werewolves.
Infected find themselves quickly addicted to the transformation, meaning they start searching out Lobo in order to keep transforming. The high created by the transformation makes it impossible to escape this cycle even for the infected.
Two years later, the governments of every nation that hadn't fallen has designated regions that the Werewolves are confined to. Anyone who becomes addicted to Lobo and gets caught with it are thrown into these designated areas before they can infect too many people. Families have been torn apart by Lobo, and the number of places safe for humans to live are slowly shrinking.
Does humanity have a future or will it fall before the pack? And who created Lobo?
