“Actually, you know what?” Olivia said. “You can keep the ring.” Kimberly blinked at her, surprised.
“What?”
“You deserve it, after taking care of me all day.”
“But…don’t you want to go back to being Oliver?” Kimberly asked. Olivia shook her head. “Do you at least want to go back to being an adult?” Olivia shook her head again. “Well…” Kimberly pocketed the ring. “If you want to stay a little girl, we need to set up some sort of guardianship system for you.”
“I suppose.” Olivia yawned widely. “Set me down, please?”
“Okay.” Kimberly set Olivia on the floor. Olivia promptly bent her knees into a squat and began to grunt loudly. While Olivia pooped, Kimberly pulled out her phone, deciding to look up the ring. Maybe she could find some other magical item that would make what Olivia wanted possible.
By the time Olivia was finished using her diaper, Kimberly had managed to track down the place the ring came from, a little magic shop downtown. Olivia toddled to Kimberly and tugged on her pant leg.
“I’m ready for a change.”
“All right.” Kimberly put her phone away and brought Olivia into the bathroom to change her dirty diaper yet again.
“What were you doing on the phone?” Olivia asked as Kimberly removed her diaper.
“I was looking up the ring.”
“And?”
“I found out where it came from.” Kimberly began to wipe Olivia down. “We can go there tomorrow to talk to the owner about how you want to stay like this. Maybe he could rewrite reality or something.”
“Hmm.” Olivia’s thumb went to her mouth. She sucked on it thoughtfully. “I like that.” Kimberly lifted Olivia’s butt and put a diaper under her.
“If the owner can rewrite reality, how would you want it rewritten?” Kimberly asked curiously. “Like, how would we know each other?” Olivia beamed at her.
“Easy. You’d be my…”
