Samantha awoke without a single dream, as if she closed her eyes the night before and opened them to the light of day, which made it all the more jarring when she realized she was back to normal. She took her thumb out of her mouth as she sat up in her bed, realizing she was now in her parent’s guest room. She’d still been wearing the dress she wore the previous night before she had become a child, the ring itself was still on her finger.
“Well, that was a wild ride.” She said to herself as she sat up. She wondered what the logic was behind how she ended up where she was, being back to normal as well, and then she realized she didn’t need to at all.
“I wish I knew the logic the ring operated on.” She said aloud. It hit almost all at once. The party didn’t end until she was well into sleep, and while she’d wished to be home, home for her was her childhood room as she was a child. She sighed as she got out of bed. She could have been more careful making the wishes she did, though she was sure that it was over now. She looked in the mirror and sighed as she felt a little disappointed she didn’t just wish to be 25.
