April Fool's Day in Animalia was considered one of the funniest days of the year, mainly because of all the pranks Animalians were playing, sometimes on their fellow Animalians and sometimes on human tourists.

Mieni Atoll was becoming an unofficial "home" to a rather elaborate prank trap, taught to Susan and Tzan by a visiting uncle. Normally used on people who like nothing better to do than ruin other people's fun, like squashing their sandcastles. The first thing was to dig a deep but narrow hole, then place two plastic bridges over the hole and very carefully build up a sand dome to hide said hole, topped with a nice little castle for the bait. They included the how-to video featuring said uncle making one such prank trap at the very beginning of the video. Afterward, they showed, via a hidden camera in a fake rock formation, all the troublemakers that got caught by the trap. Susan took it one step further by placing a small bowl of muddy water at the bottom, which added an extra funny reaction to the end.

Vilcabamba was also getting into the act with one of their own. The innocent (or not-so-innocent) victim is told to study a picture of a jungle cat in order to find another one, like one of those "hidden image pictures". Then a maintenance guy stumbles into them, seemingly by accident, sending them through the picture (and the specially prepared wall) down a slippery slope covered in harmless slime right towards a matching jungle cat, tied up of course. Some of their reactions to the cat were genuinely priceless.

Of course, there were some people, usually from out of town, who tried to prank someone only to have the result blow up in their face, so to speak. One such guy thought it would be a good idea to prank someone at the Meat Market by nudging their bottle of Orangina while they drank it, only for them to spray their mouthful of juice right into their face in surprise.

Of course, when it comes to pranking, nobody could top the pranks pulled by the Japanese, especially on Heiya Island. The Quasi-Raccoon Cuties were the first to fall for one such prank, mainly as a demonstration for those who never seen the Japanese style of pranking. The Quasi-Raccoon Cuties entered an alleyway on their way to their next location for filming when they "fell victim" to an "angry mob prank" where a large group of hooligans with bats appeared at one end of the alley, and a second group of, differently dressed, hooligans with bats appeared at the other end of the alley. As it turned out, the Cuties were caught in the middle of a street fight between two different gangs who didn't care about them getting caught in the middle. After the two gangs charged each other, pressing the Cuties between them, there was suddenly a call of "cops!" and the gangs scattered, leaving the Cuties very confused, but happy that they weren't really hurt.
Another prank was arranged by the Hanagami Trio, inspired by both the Three Mystical Monkeys (See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil) and their namesakes from the Okami game. The innocent victim is told that their prize is at the top of the mountain, with a set of stairs providing seemingly easy access. But at the third-to-last step, the stairs seemingly collapse into a slide, followed by the remaining two-thirds of the slide revealed at the same time, sending them all the way down the mountain before being launched into an airbag. There were some who were more gracious about the prank than others, but these others were able to forgive and forget once they learned they were on a prank tv show.
