One scientist stood on a platform, with gray hair. Some people came to cheer, others to jeer, given the controversial nature of the invention he had promised. Naturally, there were several who wanted him banned not just from the convention, but from all scientific journals for all time before even seeing or learning the details of his proposed invention.
"My invention ladies and gentleman, is a nonobot swarm that'll turn the first willing subject into a mobile gestation and maternity unit. Fully programmed with a full range of human psychology and child rearing and constantly being updated and self-improved, there is no such thing as perfect after all. And provide nourishment, education (including social and emotional), and protection. That first subject will be able to convert others willing subjects, and ONLY willing subjects. Choice is meant to be a word symbolizing freedom, but it can and has been corrupted. To this wave I chose to stand, rather than knee. I was told as a youth that if given the chance, I'd never accept this burden... I. ACCEPT. THIS. BURDEN!"
The science unlocked a silver canister he was holding. The silver contents within spread from within, covering his hands, then his arms, then his his entire body at lightning speed. His clothes dissolved completely, he was a humanoid shaped silvery mass. But that mass changed shaped. Quickly it's shape was a of a bald and very maternal figure. Some details of the form were simplified, purposely saving the new form from falling into the uncanny valley. She was beautiful. Merely looking at her gave a sense of safety. The large belly was transparent (the transparency adjustable as needed), and made of material strong enough to resist bullets, but no harm would come to what would be within. The large naked silver woman left the audience in awe.
The robot spoke in a feminine and inflecting voice,
"This world is filled with innocent people executed for the crime of being excess baggage claiming these executions are a right or even an act of kindness. And worse, those who try to defend those who can't defend themselves are branded as wanting to oppress those who had spent most of history being treated as little better than property. Isn't the most important right the right for a chance to live that everyone in this room had? I ask. Is there anyone willing to join me in giving shelter to the most vulnerable of all humans?"
