As Selena brushed the squirrel, Marley inhaled slowly from her bong, letting out a leisurely puff of pot smoke. She offered the bong to Tatiana. "Want some?"
Tatiana smiled apologetically. "Thanks for offering, Marley, but vampire's can't get high on Marijuana."
"Wow," Marley gasped in dismay. "that sucks!"
Tatiana laughed. "Funny you should say that. We can't get high on human drugs, but we CAN get blood-drunk after feeding heavily enough. It's supposed to be really fun. Never experienced it myself, though; I only feed from the willing, and finding enough willing feedees to get you blood-drunk without endangering themselves is scary tough. Oh well, I'll feel it someday."
Selena finished running the charged Werebrush through her red hair. "There, I'm all charged up with transformation magic and ready to shift as soon as the Sun goes down! Ger ready to feast your stoned eyes on a freaking weresquirrel, Marley."
"Hey, Selena," said Marley, "could you lend me that brush?"
"What?" Selena asked.
"I wanna brush my fucking hair with it," Marley answered impatiently. "You think you're the only person in the world who'd enjoy being a fucking weresquirrel?! Well, you're not. I love the shit out of squirrels, and I've daydreamed about being a mix of girl and squirrel for years. I wanna have soft red fur, a fluffy tail, cute buckteeth, and sturdy tree-climbing claws."
Selena smiled. "That actually rocks, Marley. We could start a drey together!"
"A what, now?" asked a puzzled Tatiana.
"A tribe of weresquirrels," said Selena. She turned back to Marley and handed her the Werebrush.
"Thanks, Selena," said Marley. "I fucking owe ya one!" She took off her beanie and brushed her hair three times with the Werebrush. She felt a slight spark as she finished. "Think I'm done. Did I do that right?"
"Pretty sure," said Selena. She settled herself down on the grass and took a puff on Marley's bong. "Nothing for us to do now but wait for Moonrise. Then the fun begins!"
