"Good idea, Lena," said Tatiana. "Let's go." The vampire girl rushed out to get her bike, Selena following close behind.
Twenty minutes later, they were in the shop explaining their situation to Morgana. "...and then nothing happened," Tatiana concluded. "The Werebrush just doesn't seem to work on me. We wanna know if there's anything to fix that."
Morgana nodded. "There is, Tatiana, but you might not like what I am about to tell you. Do you still want to hear it?"
"Yes," said Tatiana. "Honestly, I think I've already guessed it, but I need to know for sure. I really, really want to join Selena's pack of it's at all possible, Morgana. I want to be with my girlfriend."
"Very well," Morgana sighed gravely. "You didn't transform because your body is technically dead, animated by the mystic powers of Night. It is frozen in time, unchanging. It just isn't possible to alter its genome to include a werebeast gene. There is, of course, a solution. Whether it's an agreeable solution depends on how you feel about being a vampire."
"I think I see where this is going..." Tatiana mumbled.
"You must dispel your vampire nature and become a living, breathing human girl again. Once your heart resumes its beating, your mortal form may be transformed by the Werebrush."
Selena put a hand on Tatiana's pale, chilly shoulder. "I can't ask you to do that for me, Tats. I won't make you sacrifice your powers and family just to expand my pack."
Tatiana tapped a finger on her chin, lost in thought.
"What have you decided, Tatiana?" asked Morgana, eyeing the vampire girl inquisitively. "Vampire or werehyena? Your choice."
