The night's been passing, and neither could really sleep... between the sudden power... what he's done already... what he could do... Ty's mind was running wild. And with the thoughts of what happened to his parents, to himself, the uncertainty of the future... Dustin was even more restless...
Ty could've just wished them both asleep simply enough, but the idea slipped past his mind...
A knock on the door, before it opens. Dustin walks into Ty's room.
"I'm... sorry" The older brother says. "I've put you through hell and... you didn't deserve it."
Ty motions for him to come closer. To sit down on the bed.
"I've been under so much pressure... my whole life, they've wanted me to be their perfect son. Get perfect A's... Socialize only with who they approve... eat right... exercise right... speak right... do everything... correctly... and now? They're gone... I just..."
He begins to tear up.
"...And you... I just... You were perfect... the perfect way to laugh... to get all my anger out... my perfect punching bag. They didn't care. Fuck, they hated you from day one... they knew you couldn't even have a chance at being their perfect son, because you weren't even their son to begin with... and all the anger... all the stress... it would go away when I would tease you... if only for a second...
"It was wrong... I was wrong. I... always knew that. And, it's not an excuse but, I don't think I've ever had a chance to process that until now."
Ty finally speaks up. "I forgive you. Dad and Mom, it's their fault for not raising you right. Not your fault for not treating me right. They're the disease, you have always only been a symptom. That's why I didn't just leave you as a dog like mother. I forgive you, only this once. If you try to fuck with me, ever again."
"I know, Ty. I know. Thanks for giving me a second chance... Wait. Leave me as a dog? Don't you mean turn me into one?"
"I was experimenting with my... ability last night... on you... while you were asleep."
