You were a 30 year old male virgin a.k.a a Wizard. You weren't from a prosperous family so you ended up moving into an apartment complex with plenty of... non-humans... It was cheap and you could afford reagents for your magic experiments... Well your roommates could and since you were the only one who could use magic you were the one who had to set up the scrying ball and a lot of the other magical items, but with your roommates money you were able to skim enough off the top to make your own experiments.
With your own magic crystal ball and consulting with other Wizards that you were able to contact through the magic crystal ball you were able to use certain magic diagrams to enchant some special glass of sort that someone called "Silicon" in a certain way... and got some special crystal ball the collective of wizards that were called Transdiem named the "Chronivac". Apparently it held massive power and could change bodies and reality... Although the Chronivac crystal orb took a decent amount of power and was limited to what the magic user could supply it with. You cycled around the magic ball's settings and it had enough power to scan you... Had things like age, gender, etc.... It also had your current magic supply which was... well slightly above average for humans which wasn't that amazing. However you were able to change the number to be much higher and when you entered the change it was like all your mana gates expanded and started letting out more and more magic... With that much more magic the chronivac could be powered to change reality more to get you even more magic and...
It ended with you changing your magic power to the point where you could be one of the strongest archmages ever... Of course you would keep this a secret for as long as you could, but that also seemed to unlock a lot of the chronivac's other options like universe alterations, awareness options, and scanning creatures within a few miles instead of a few feet. You felt a little drunk on power, but maybe you should start your experimentation with someone closer to home... Maybe one of those inhuman creatures you had to call roommates and perform all those magical engineering feats for... Now that you had power it was time you decided to play around with...
